The tranquil, idyllic vineyards of Italy’s Tuscany region are the subject of Sue Grim’s first published image, "Tuscany Harvest".
In Grim’s vision, the vineyard is a tribute to nature and the spirit. Bursting with life and color, the natural perfection of the scene suggests the cycle of life, the beauty and changes of the seasons, fertility and growth, and a promise of physical and spiritual nourishment.
The setting is late afternoon and the vines are rich with the weight of heavy grapes at harvest time. Shadows long with the setting sun are bathed in the golden glow of the Tuscany sky while the hills beyond are clothed in purple. The harvest is abundant, the Creator’s masterpiece.
Beautifully juxtaposed color and composition along with the choice of pastoral scenery as the subject matter make "Tuscany Harvest" distinctly memorable.

In the tradition of California plein air painting, Sue Grim captures the solitary, rugged beauty of northern California’s coast in spring.
The icy blue waters are warmed by the bluff top foliage beginning to burst with life. From the artist’s perspective atop a craggy bluff, the viewer is treated to a birds eye view of the curvilinear land forms and formations richly textured and colored to reflect the beginnings of growth. The peace and serenity of the scene is momentary and will surely be disturbed with the coming of summer.
